I HATE ELECTRICAL WORK. I really didn’t pay attention in Shop class (yes I’m that old) nor in 4H when we made lamps. Plus I had a few mishaps during several attempts to repair things. Once I was drilling a hole with an electric drill in a an aluminum door and hit a wire hidden by the previous home in the frame. The drill bit exploded and I fell off the ladder and my drill fried. Add that to a few fried wires, radios and computer boards during failed attempts at soldering and you’ll get a well rounded picture of my electrical wheelhouse. Oh, toss in the fact that I’m colored blind and well…you get it.
I’ve a bit better experience with cars, but not enough to be comfortable.
I’m trying to wrap my head around this. Maybe a reader can help.
I reading an article in Car and Driver entitled “Gravity Wins – The Final Moments of Flight 570S.”
This article lays out a crash of a McLaren 570S Spider on Route 33 in California. Car was driving by a journalist and the author of the piece is not listed but does state he was in the passenger seat. The passenger was was Sean Evans
The article goes on to chronicle the event. The author goes into great detail explaining the crash labeling the sections as “Launch”, “Flight” and “Impact”. He even gone as far as enlisting the help of a NASA JPL engineer to explain all the forces and speed etc., with cool phrases such as “…our flight time….about 3 seconds” and “…Priellis last touched asphalt.” He states “We started the right-hand turn a 78 mph…”

I can’t decide what annoys me more. The fact that an journalist was driving a car he did not have the skills with nor the respect the for it’s power necessary or the fact that the speed limit on Route 33 in California is only 55 mph an these knuckleheads we traveling at 78 miles an hour!
Let’s not mention the fact that Car and Driver published the article at all. Oh and the kicker, it include a pic of the wrecked 570s with caption – “My old man is television repairman. He’s got the ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.” This show a total disrespect for the public, those of us that drive sports car safely on public streets/roads and real journalism.
One more example of the stupidity of a writing thinking his journalistic skills with writing about sports cars, actually mean he can drive one.
Shame on Car and Driver for giving these knuckleheads space in their…cough…cough…”Intelligence, Independence, Irreverence” periodical (that’s from their cover).

Fiat Chrysler shareholders voted in favor of the separation of the Ferrari brand from FCA as part of Sergio Marchionne’s plan to raise cash and reduce debt of the Italo-American company.The shareholders’ meeting was held in Amsterdam where about 98 per cent of them approved the separation, with Fiat-Chrysler to distribute the remaining 80 per cent stake in Ferrari back to its own investors by early next year.This comes after FCA already sold 10 per cent of Ferrari in a public offering, raising around $1 billion. The whole company is burdened with a total of €10.9 billion in debt, with FCA raising about €3.8 billion from the divorce with Ferrari.This deal will reduce FCA’s debt by about €1.6 billion but at the same time, the seventh-largest automaker in the world loses its most valuable asset. Piero Ferrari, Enzo’s son still holds the remaining 10 per cent of Ferrari.“The separation will better enable Ferrari to realize its full potential,” Marchionne said at the shareholders’ meeting. “It will also allow Fiat investors to benefit directly from the substantial value inherent in Ferrari.”Ferrari had announced earlier on Monday that they are borrowing a total of €2.5 billion to finance their demerger from Fiat-Chrysler and help their former parent company in the funding of Sergio’s ambitious growth plan.
It’s a great week for muscle car fans all around the country as the Ford Motor Company [NYSE:F] has started building customer examples of the new Mustang Shelby GT350 and GT350Rs. The cars are built at the same Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Michigan responsible for the standard Mustang and the first ones off the line are actually 2015 models.
Just 137 of these ’15 models are being built to honor the original 1965 Shelby GT350 built by Shelby American—100 GT350s and 37 GT350Rs—and no doubt all of them are accounted for. Once this initial batch of cars is built, Ford will switch over to 2016 models that will be built and sold in higher volumes. Deliveries commence this fall.

cB7 Prototype – Look a little like a C7? That’s what I thought.
So what is cB7?
The FELINO cB7 is a tubular frame vehicle wrapped with composite and carbon fibre elements; it weighs approximately 1 000 kg, according to the selected drive train.
Therefore, the cB7 can be mounted with a 4, 6 or 8-cylinder engine, optional for the buyer.
The early prototype, equipped with a 4-cylinder turbo engine, was tested and received high marks in 2012 and 2013. In 2013, a 6,2 litres V-8 was installed under the bonnet of a second-generation prototype and will be tested thoroughly in the Spring of 2014.
The specifications featured in the press documents are those of the V8 version. These specifications may change. Final model specs will be available in the Summer of 2014.
The entry-level model of the FELINO cB7 will be available at a price under $100,000. Final sales prices will be announced later. The FELINO corporation is already considering the possibility of an electric vehicle in a few years.
PRODUCTION STATUS OF THE FELINO cB7
After three years of research and development, the first FELINO cB7 prototype became a reality in 2012 and was tested on race tracks and notably on Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in 2012 and 2013.
In 2013, FELINO built a second-generation prototype, featuring a chassis evolution, along with a mechanical and design upgrade. It will be tested in the Spring of 2014.
In 2014, the company will reach the final phase of development and the level of pre-production. Two more units will be assembled and tested before Production 1 starts. A limited production series is forecasted for 2015.
