So we are going to cover the offering for 1975, but before I continue I have a question for everyone.
It’s often said that the Mustang II was just a Pinto with different sheet metal. Is that true or false
I’ve got a free gift for the right detailed answer.
Post your answer on this blog.
Thanks for reading.

False. Mustang II is not a “re-bodied” or “reskinned” Pinto. The Mustang II was a unique design and some parts were redesigned for the ’74 Pinto to be compatible with both cars.
Only the following components are shared between the cars: Front suspension (minus sway bar and subframe not found on Pinto), rack-and-pinion steering (power assist N/A on Pinto), and rear floow pans. That’s it. Mustang II’s wheelbase and leaf springs are 2″ longer than Pinto’s, and Mustang II’s rear shocks are staggered. There is actually more Falcon in a ’65 Mustang and more Fairmont in a ’79 Mustang than there is Pinto in a Mustang II. There you have it.
Todd…Thanks for dropping an answer. You are correct. I have a Mustang DVD for you. Drop me an email at timsweet@cox.net with address and I’ll get that out to you.

Ronnie David Cox (from Facebook) MY FIRST CAR WAS A 1975 MUSTANG 11 WITH A 302 BUT HAD 13 IN RIMS ON IT,4 LUG COULD NOT KEEP TIRES ON IT,BUT I LOVED THAT STANG
FALSE. The Mustang II had a different K member/steering/suspension that is used by many Hot Rodders even today. It did share the same Ford of Europe powertrains with the Pinto, and the floorpan/cowl/unibody was similar, but the cars were not the same in that only sheetmetal was the difference.
