Tucson isn’t a large town when it comes to car club culture so you often see some of the same cars. But I never get tired of seeing this hot rod.
Here is a coupe that’s nearly complete.

My aunt had a Rivera similar to the one pictured. It had the 413 ‘nailhead’ V8, and Sears and Roebuck aftermarket AC that would freeze you out of the car on a 100 degree hot and humid Kentucky summer day.
She put almost 200K miles on this car, and it would still cruise and float down the highway at 90MPH up to the day she traded it in on a Brookwood Estate Chevy wagon with a smog choked 350. She always said that her Rivera was the best car she had ever owned.
Which brings me back to the question that is always in my mind when I write these kind of comments; “What happened to General Motors”???? Why can’t they build cars that are scary fast with living room ride and comfort, and 200K miles of reliability today???
