I just recently picked up a copy of GMs new Performance catalog and all I can say is WOW!! But we’ll dive into that in a future post.
Gracing the cover was the latest and greatest COPO Camaro. You remember those special order packages. Well they have brought it back and factory racing just jumped up and shouted “LET DO IT!!!!”

COPO IS BACK!!, posted with vodpod
as an old owner of a 1st gen then a 2nd gen….do not care for the new ones COPO or not.
I wonder why COPO is always referred to Chevy?
You could get a COPO Buick, or Pontiac, too, but you never hear about those cars?
COPO was “Central Office Production Order”, which was a special order that was not shown on the brochure. My father knew a Buick Dealer in rual Lebanon, Kentucky (Bud Brent Buick INC) that COPO ordered Buick LeSabres for the local Police Department with Corvette L48 engines. In fact, my dad bought one of these plain vanilla LeSabres with L48 in 1971. I wish I had that car today. I could sell it at Barret Jackson as the ‘only surviving COPO Buick’ for probably 1.1 million dollars.
